| Sun Sound People often visualize the begining of time as a giant flash of light spreading out in all directions. However as "The Big Bang" implies, and modern science confirms, the production of sound actually preceded the generation of light. In essence, the World was created by Sound acting upon the first matter in thick darkness. By analogy, the Sun sings the Earth into activity, stimulating the vibrations of Life on the planet with a song of regeneration. Go out into the sunshine and listen carefully to this creation. Receptive listeners, who can hear where the One is at, learn to appreciate both the ritualistic and improvisational aspects of the "Sun Sound". The band consists of Phil Farris-tenor sax, Bill Marcus-bass, David Ake-piano, and Giovanni Nickens-drums. This album was recorded at the World Stage direct to two-track, no mixing or overdubs. JazzTimes (10/97, p.141) - "...a powerful spiritual approach reminiscent of the classic Coltrane quartet..." (mp3 samples) Ladybird Sea of Sand Sun Sound - Winter
